One of the most hurtful human experiences is that of being ignored. When I contact a physician to discuss rare disease, I always say, “You may not see rare disease often, but seeing it early makes all the difference for the patient.”

This is the sentiment I bring to my work every day, and the message I would like to convey to anyone with a rare disease—we see you. And even though I do not know you, I will work tirelessly on your behalf. Because you are worth it, and we know it.

We see you and we care.

Rare Disease Day offers a special time of year when we can connect across the divide of anonymity to all people with rare disease and let them know that we are here, we are your advocates, and we strive to make changes for the betterment of your life.

This work is mission and ministry rolled into one.  It is a privilege to be a part of the ongoing work of TrialCard in the world of rare disease and to bring to light the stories, the needs, and the opportunities available for people with rare and underdiagnosed disease.
