Chris Mendez, MBA, Product Director for TrialCard’s Pharmacy Services portfolio, was named the Government Programs Work Group Most Valuable Participant at the 2016 National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) Annual Technology and Business Conference. The yearly event brings together leaders from a cross section of pharmaceutical and healthcare industry segments, including retail and specialty pharmacies, benefit management companies, manufacturers, and service providers to share insights and participate in learning sessions around critical topics affecting the industry.

Mendez heads TrialCard’s Government Exclusion and Patient Eligibility efforts. In 2014, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) issued a report on the use of co-pay cards by federally insured patients, calling for cooperation among industry stakeholders to improve the reliability of claim processing to address this issue. An independent audit showed a greater than 99% success rate in allowing only eligible patients to be granted participation in co-pay programs managed by TrialCard.

“Having Chris recognized by the NCPDP is a tremendous honor. It speaks volumes about his leadership in this area and the work we’ve done as an organization to be at the forefront of this critical issue for our clients,” lauded TrialCard President and CEO Mark Bouck. “This is a complex matter that we have invested tremendous time and effort into understanding and taking a prominent role among the industry in addressing.”
